Summer Internships......

18 lakh engineers are produced in india every year. According to some of the government and private organisations survey ,It is said that around 60% engineers produced in india are non-employable as they don't have the practical skills required to work in industries. I would like to draw the attention of people towards why are we not able to produce engineers which are capable of carrying the growth of the country on their shoulders and march forward - <1> Decade old syllabus which is not industry oriented. <2> Lack of good faculties in engineering institutions in the country(including IIT's). <3> Lack of real training. In this article , I want to discuss about the third point - we all know that we have summer internships during our B.Tech in which we are supposed to learn and get trained for the industries. Some universities have provision of 1 summer training like RTU and some have 3 like PTU. The main problem starts here, how to get an internship in a good company especially when you are not from an IIT and you don't have any contacts. The main problem is for core branches as the main recruiter for core branches are PSU's and there are very limited companies in the private sector. PSU's demand blood-relations for summer internships and private companies shut their doors on your face saying they don't provide internships.... The main question that i have here is everyone keep saying that we have a dearth of good engineers in the country and they don't even help to make them smart and employable.
My question for the companies that don't provide internships to engineers fearing that they could harm their instruments is that how can they expect them to be good after the completion of their B.Tech if they don't give them an opportunity to learn
I would like to request the government of India to come forward and do something in this regard as they have some policies to provide training but only for few students for example- training of Electronics Engineers by BSNL under AICTE . They should do it for other branches also and they can make some policies like providing some incentives to the private companies if they train certain number of students in a year to encourage them to provide training and hands-on experience for the budding engineers(future) of this country.

Is India a Poor Country ??

Snapchat Founder Evan Spiegel has said that he doesn't want to come to India as he thinks that his app is made to exclusively serve Rich nations. I would like to show you some facts :- 1) India is the 3rd largest Economy in the world in terms of PPP(Purchasing Power Parity) 2) India is the second largest startup market in the world. 3) The 1961 census of India listed 1,652 languages and even now we speak more than 1000 languages. 4) India has three of the world's top ten megacities - one more than China. 5) India has the world's largest film industry. More than 1,100 movies are produced, on average, each year - that's slightly ahead of Nigeria, twice as many as the American film industry and ten times as many as Britain produces. 6) Bombay Stock Exchange or Sensex is considered to be among the largest stock exchanges in the world and surely one of the oldest. 7) India is among the few countries in the world whose young population would keep driving its economy to...

Make in india or make for India ?

After "Jai Jawan jai Kisaan" by Lal Bahadur Shashtri ,We have "Make in India" a new intitiative taken by another prime minister for the growth of India. Lets' look at some of the positive facts regarding make in INDIA -: 1- We will have the most number of human labour, almost 63 million by 2022 with an average age of 29 years. 2- Strong mandate in Lok Sabha which can help in clearing some important bills. 3- strong personality like Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister who can take strong decisions. I don't want to discuss about the 2 and 3 point but i do have a problem with the 1 point. I do agree with the fact that we have a huge amount of human capital but my concern is about the quality. When India got Independent we had less than 100 colleges in India, So the main task of PM J.L. Nehru was to increase the number of colleges. We have achieved that target by increasing the number of colleges to more than 3000 but i can't say the same about quality....

Cries of Go Back India in Kashmir !

I can't understand the thinking of a young Kashmiri. Do these guys actually know what they are saying, cry of 'Hame chahiye Aazadi' 'jiwe jiwe Pakistan' etc. What perplexes me the most is, young generation of around 14-30 age is shouting these slogans. Have we failed in making Kashmir an Integral part of India ? Has Article 370 failed ? OR Is Article 370 the main reason behind isolation of Kashmir. Article 370 was added in the constitution to give more autonomy to Jammu&Kashmir compared to other states. Only Defence, Foreign Affairs and Communication is under the Indian Government. The Paradox in Kashmir is that the people who are considered as leader of Kashmiri movement, The Hurriyat Conference, their leaders themselves don't follow the stupid things that they preach to other people. They burned hundreds of school in Jammu & Kashmir last year but they themselves are teaching their kids in Premium schools of India. Take the case of Syed Ali Shah Ge...
